.com. >>> new at 5:00 a former san jose principal found guilty for failing to report suspected child sexual abuse by a teacher. jurors saying the principal did not want to believe such an ugly thing was true. cbs 5 reporter len ramirez is live outside the courthouse. len. >> reporter: elizabeth, i'm not sure if this has landmark status but this is certainly a very important case when it comes to mandatory reporters. those are the people who are in positions of responsibility to report crimes against children such as molest cases or abuse cases. now, in this case, the principal of o.b. whaley elementary school school lyn vijkayendran was found guilty for failing to report a suspected case of molestation that she knew about. craig chandly allegedly blindfolded and molested young girls in his classroom. after a parent reported her suspicions, vijkayendran confronted chandler but accepted his story it was about a helen keller lesson about blindness. a second child was then molested. here's what one of the jurors had to say about this case. >> when you have the responsibility of hundreds of chil

in livermore. 61 san francisco. and 61 degrees in san jose. as you head towards san jose, still hazy outside. it's taken a while for low clouds and fog to break up. we are still going to see clouds into the afternoon but motors of that will be high clouds. temperatures cooler at the coast with mild temperatures inland tonight low clouds and fog likely to make a return but what a weekend we have coming our way. cold front trying to move in before the ridge can build in so we are going to see a few high clouds this afternoon and that's it. then this ridge kicks into gear building this for the weekend and i think as we get into sunday we're talking about an offshore flow. that means the winds coming from the land and the sea and that means we'll heat up all the way to the coastline. for today we'll keep the temperatures down a bit but not bad. 72 in sacramento. 65 yosemite and 67 in lake tahoe. if you plan to travel around the bay today you will find sunshine and not bad temperatures 69 degrees in san jose, 70 morgan hill about 62 degrees in pacifica. and as you head toward the east bay 60s and

the coastline and these temperatures again heating up in a hurry. it's 78 degrees in san jose already. 78 in livermore. 74 degrees in san francisco. and 74 degrees in concord. looking toward the coastline, still clear of fog. that will likely change though toward tomorrow. so sunshine, near record temperatures maybe a couple of records out there, and then tonight mostly clear in the valleys but looks like some patchy coastal fog will begin to develop and major changes the next couple of days. so high pressure holding on for one last day. you can already see this trough in the gulf of alaska. eventually that works its way in our direction but at least one more day of sunshine and maybe a couple of records, as well. if we hit that we could hit a couple of spots especially looking toward redwood city and san jose. we are forecasting highs of 81 degrees in both those cities. if that happens, those will be records. probably not going to see a whole lot of records like yesterday but still, it will be close enough and it will be a nice day all and the bay area. overnight tonight, the sea breeeze
